Microwave ovens use microwave radiation to heat up the water and various other polarized molecules inside the food. Other features of convection units are also present, such as the ability to preheat the oven in preparation for baking. If you simply need a way to heat up food that is already cooked, then a simple microwave oven will do the trick.
